Analysis of Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) Refinery as Sulfur Emission Control Unit at PT X, Indonesia

PT X is an Indonesian oil and gas processing industry. Recognizing the potential harm posed by emissions from natural processing, actively working to control air pollution. One of their initiatives involves construction a Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) refinery reduce sulfur emissions, particularly H2S, converting them into liquid products. The SRU effectively processes approximately 73% H2S emitted during production. In January 2023, quality measurements were conducted on stack 94-F-403 SRU, revealing following results: average concentration SO2 was 14.69 mg/m3, NO2 3.04 mg/m3. These indicate that both parameters fall below standards set Minister Environment Regulation No. 13 2009, which defines acceptable emission limits for Based these findings, it can be concluded are classified as non-polluting, adhering government's standards. X's commitment environmental responsibility evident through implementation refinery, significantly reduces ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
